Each year the ship takes a Long Cruise to visit a new place, practice the skills the Scouts have trained on, and to HAVE FUN!!  This year the Ship set the goal charter a sailboat in one of the best cruising grounds in the world, the British Virgin Islands.  They performed a  number of fund raising activities, including car washes and a yard sale, and received a discount on the charter fee from the charter company as well as a group rate on airfares.  While in the BVI the Scouts plotted out the route they wanted to take, manned all maneuvering and safety stations, and cooked all of the meals onboard.  They also sailed, fished, swam, snorkeled, completed 10 scuba dives (those with proper qualifications), and visited the local sites.  They enjoyed it so much they've set their sights on returning to the BVI in 2-3 years.
